Until 1 January 2025 member states will not accept waste other than dangerous and neutral that are suitable for recycling on wastelands, including plastics, metals, glass, paper and cardboard as well as biodegradable waste.

In 2020, in accordance with the EU regulations, Poland will have to achieve 50% level of recycling and readiness for reuse of paper, metals, plastics and glass.

From 1 July 2017 new rules of segregation of communal waste are in place in the whole country. From that moment, the waste will be sorted in four factions.
